The Historic Fairmount Heights Neighborhood Mural Arts Program

    Creative Placemaking in Newark, New Jersey

    The Edgecombe Group, Inc. was commissioned by the Urban League of Newark, N.J. to provide design services to include a mural arts program for the Historic Fairmount Community. It was intended to follow the historic trend of  arts and culture within inner-city neighborhoods. This video chronicles the arts movement in Newark from which The Edgecombe Group was an integral part of the neighborhood-based Creative Placemaking planning process.

    Historic Howard University African-American Memorials

      Benjamin Banneker Memorial at Howard University

      The Edgecombe Group, Inc. was commissioned by the Mother of Pearl Alumni Association (MPAA) of Howard University to restore the Benjamin Banneker Memorial (1929), also locally known as the Sundial. This video represents the re-dedication ceremony of the monument as it was  delivered to the University in 2017. Over 400 members of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity from throughout the U.S. were able to attend and witness this momentous event.
